hey i was curious to know if i was just seeing a star or was it one of the planets , it was fairly clear here , the moon was bright but here was only one "star" present in the sky , i was curious to know if it was a planet wich one was it :ugeek:

8:30pm-9:00pm i noticed it







just in case ---- im in columbus ohio idk what direction it was in but if looking up at the moon it would be to the right

Yes, it's very hard to see many stars with the near full moon in the sky. The object to the right of the Moon was Jupiter, which at magnitude -2.6 is the bightest object in the nighttime sky right now (other than the moon, of course). It is 15 times brighter than the next brightest in the southern sky, which would be Altair, above and to the right.

(Techinically, Venus is brighter, but it doesn't rise in the east until nearly 5 AM)

ahh trusty wayne :D , thanks for the verification , i found it odd not even any of the brightest stars werent showing. Its weird how a planet can be shown so brightly
