Gorilla photographed on Mars

Check this out guys, definately one for the unexplained. Picture of a gorilla on Mars.

Well yes of course its just a combination of rocks and shadows, but I had a good chuckle, I did this picture a year or so back when a similar photo was taken.

If you're talking about the reward poster yes, its my creation, there was a big flap some time ago by the image on the left being taken on Mars, so I thought I'd have a little fun with it.

Hmmmm....Its too bad that NASA/JPL did not get close up images....Full frontal view....Maybe they did....

If one goes by this image, they, JPL, just drove right by...and then took the picture....from a distance..

I plan to enlarge and clean up the online image......

If there is a half profile, Of course I will reflect it to complete the face...

However, from a preliminary view, only one side is facing the rover....This rock is too far away......

There is more here than meets the eye…..It may look like a random mess of rocks…..

This is the theory…..”Someone” like to create half profiles…Profiles that works with the natural surroundings…..

An art form that takes advantage of the symmetry created when reflected….

I am not sure if this reflects a biology…..

Or an artistic style…..

I will have images by tomorrow……

Note “rocks” upper right…..There is a rock precariously placed on top of a pedestal.…seems to be balanced…..I am sure this rock is firmly placed….No, this is not a perspective illusion - that rock is placed on top of a “mount”…..

There is also an over hang…I can see a shadow being cast on the ground…There is an inclined “ramp” leading up to a vertical protrusion (another placed rock).

I am looking at PANCAM images….However, I do like the visible spectrum of the NAVCAM.

They show a Sol 486 dust devil….This dust devil is not a natural event. There is an intelligence behind it…

It seems “someone” was helping both rovers…..

Highly specific dust devils/wind just came by periodically to clean the solar panels…..“Just in time”….. :lol:

“Where’s that rover..Ahh, there it is….Time to clean the panels..getting dusty……Power levels getting low…“

The Spirit rover is now stuck….Maybe “someone” can push or move the rover out of its predicament….If this “someone” decides to.

Crikey, you crop and enlarge by a factor of 3x (at least) and then sharpen so much that you get sharpening halos on the pixelated image. And then call the result "geometric carving". Why not play with the radius of the USM and see what other oddities result ?

How about you use the image from the Left Cam and, using the exact same "filtering", see if you get the exact same "carvings". Here's the link ...
