Hi I am not an astronomer or anything but the sky does interest me a lot.
Anyway I was out walking with a friend at around 2am, and we laid on some grass watching the sky.
We saw meteorites etc but we saw one thing we couldn't explain.
Out of nowhere a very bright green light dashed across the sky and got brighter then disappeared.
It only lasted for about 3 seconds.
It looked like a firework but it wasn't, 1. It came out of nowhere. 2. It made no noise. 3. It didn't explode.
I know it wasn't an aeroplane because it was moving at least 10 times as fast as other aeroplanes passing by. It wasn't flashing either.

I am just interested to see what people think it was as I am confused.

Thanks.

Probably a Meteor.

NASA 2002 Perseid Meteor Photo Gallery

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

It could have been man-made space debris reentering the atmosphere; but the Perseids are notable for their red, green, and blue colors. A meteor's speed and material composition both play a role in the color it produces.

Meteor (and fireball) Element Color Chart

Sodium: Orange-yellow
Iron: Yellow
Magnesium: Blue-green
Calcium: Violet
Silicon: Red

APOD Perseid
The green color was what made me make the response I did.

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."
