Grissom Flights

Why did Gus Grissom not have a second Gemini flight? He seemed to be the prototypical astronaut. In his book about the Gemini Project, he sounded disapointed that he didn't have another flight

I always wonde about jim lovel. Why he did not get a command of his own in the early Apollo missions. We had more spaceflight expeience in terms of frank borman. Double in fact.
