It's the day of the launch and I am pumped and really scared too. I agree that is seems to have been a long time and no time at all since STS 107 launched. See you guys afer the launch.

Giddy.<br /><br />Sure there is some concern. But the excitement is overbearing.<br /><br />Its like getting ready for your showtime, you've been over the problems and the fixes, you know your crew has, you know your ground crew has as well. You mull it over in your brain. The one thing that you just can't think about is the unknown because its unknown, and that may be the scariest part. So you think on your tasks, your mission, procedure. And you pray real hard when the pilot engages all thrusters.<br /><br />(comments based on previous experience in the Air Force as a part of an air crew. Maybe the astronauts are going through something like that, or maybe not. But this is how I feel.)<br /><br /><img src="/images/icons/laugh.gif" /> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p> </p><p><font color="#0000ff"><em>"SCE to AUX" - John Aaron, curiosity pays off</em></font></p> </div>

I have just realised. This is to be Steve Robinsons third flight to space and his third flight aboard discovery. he has made all his flights aboard discovery.

I'm excited. There's so many things to look forward to on this flight. I'm really looking forward to all the new veiws from the new camera systems. The airborne and shuttleborne cameras should give spectacular pictures, if all goes well. Then there's the docking and EVAs. The boom should look pretty amazing at the end of the arm. I even like watching the install of the MPLM.
