I was out last night with my new XT-8, 20 degrees F, and was plagued with eyepiece fog. Later I considered that I should have kept my EP's in my coat pocket so they would be a few degrees warmer than ambient, to prevent fog. I know the primary mirror must be at ambient to prevent air boundry distortions, but is this critical with EP's? Besides, almost anything would be better than looking through fog. Or, maybe I should go to the hardware store and buy some of that windshield goo (kidding).
