http://starryskies.com/articles/2003/09/earth.rotation.html : This website talks about what would happen if the Earth stopped moving. From stopping suddenly to gradually slowing down. As you may know that this year a second was added to the world master clocks because of the Earth's slowing rotation on it's axis. I thought what would happen if the Earth started slowing down more and more and more until it stoped completely.
What do you think would happen if the Earth stopped moving?

The Earth's and Sun's displacement mass is increasing and changing the curvature of space-time as the Sun dissipates; the decrease in radial gyration is an effect. I would imagine that this phenomena will increase at an accelerated magnitude as the millenniums come to pass. The Earth could feel a change in tidal forces becoming less geologically active, and die when the core cools, and seizes up. However, none of it really matters because humanity is likely to meet their demise long before the effects of decreased gravity ripple through our core.

Planet dissolving chaos cloud gets here in 8 1/2 years, this is all a moot discussion.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

Well, what the hell. I have a short list of things to do. Molecular dispersal is on it.

The last item, of course...

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

What is the spin of a body relative with?

Interesting how accelerated reference frames seem to be relative to a mysterious absolute frame. My guess is that it is relative to a dimension of 'scale'.

http://www.chez.com/etlefevre/rechell/ukrechel.htm

What do you think?
Does a spinning bucket of water produce a concave shape in an empty black void universe?

Hi - I found a real article about our solar system, and the fact that it is scheduled to pass through a real interstellar cloud that could strip away atmospheres as our speedy little insignificant little spec of a solar system experiences a sort of drag when it enters the interstellar medium of whatever. I will try and find it for you.
