Would think that with conventional cell phone towers a maximum of 10 miles apart, possibility of service on the ISS would be pretty unlikely. Also, with ISS zipping along at ~5 miles per second, don't think the system would be able to establish a call with so many handoffs occuring. Doppler shift will further scramble electronics.

What kind of doppler is allowed on Iridium system?

Seems like they are advertised to work on the Concorde, but that's not even 1 mile per second.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

The 1984(?) IMAX space shuttle movie showed an HP pocket calculator in use on the shuttle. Suppose today's equivalent would be allowed if it did not interfere with any of the vital ISS equipment.

Don't think a window air conditioner would work though.....

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!
