"Would JIMO have required assembly in space? It looked quite large. "<br /><br />It's academic at this point since JIMO is cancelled. But I think size doesn't matter, what really matters is mass. Just look at the huge solar-panel/radiator-panel assemblies of the International Space Station. They massed about 15 tonnes and fit into a Space Shuttle cargo bay. The JIMO spacecraft of less than 20 tonnes mass, no doubt would have used a similar deployment scheme.<br /><br />

I concur... <br /><br /><br />STS launch! <br /><br /><br />If ever revived then a HLV launch. Delta IVH or SDHLV...<br /><br /><br /><img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" /><br />
