People endlessly make fun of the movie, "The Last Starfighter", but I actually liked it. It's not a film epic like "Star Wars", it's more of a science fiction fairy tale with a happy ending. I thought it was heartwarming.

The computer-generated special effects were also revolutionary, if a bit crude by our standards. Many of the effects in that movie had never been done before, so in my opinion the people behind them deserve at least as much credit as the pioneers of stop-motion animation.

However, will it make a good musical? I'll keep an open mind.

Wasn't Phil Hartman (as 'Troy McClure') hilarious singing in 'Planet Of The Apes: The Musical' on "The Simpsons"? That song makes me laugh every time I hear it!

I enjoyed that movie, back in the day. I was home from school sick one day and it was on the sci-fi channel. It entertained me that day, anyway.
