Living in a highly light polluted area leads me to inquire where I can economically travel to get the best seeing conditions for the night sky. Something akin to a weather map and forecasting would be ideal, with seeing conditions rated from 0 to 50 (sic). Some of the weather websites include such data for specific zip codes, but I have yet to find software dedicated to regional or national seeing conditions.

Just get to your location, and you can find the best direction to head in (the location shown is the NJAA observatory)

Seems fairly obvious from looking at the North American map that it is time for me to help roll back light pollution in the region. I found a beautiful city and university observatory site about an hour's drive out. Thank you MeteorWayne.
