[Right click, Save target as...]

This kind of stuff makes it easier to visualize these things.

The Orion sure does have a lot of room to move compared to the Apollo CM.

So, again we are defeated. And notice the cabin shown is the 6 passenger; previously denoted as the Mars return vehicle. The lunar build is supposedly a 4 passenger, so either there will be much more pressurized cargo or the accommodations are going to be 4-star

I could have sworn I heard somewhere that the Lunar version is supposed to have a zero-g toilet. I would assume that with that much room it would have a door or at least a privacy curtain or something.

So, again we are defeated. Lessee...have it here somewhere

Ah...got it.

Block 1A: 3 passenger ISS
Block 1B: pressurized cargo
Block 2 (Lunar): 4 passengers
Block 3: (Mars): 6 passengers

Attached image & above info is the CEV family as posted before the 5 meter redesign.

Of course the Block 1A variant, if they even build it, would have a limited lifetime given the Orion flight schedule has its last flight to ISS happening in 2016. After that it's COTS or Soyuz.

IMO better to go straight to a reconfigurable Block 3 akin to what SpaceX is doing with Dragon. The recent Orion cockpit animation showed something akin to this configuration so maybe...

OTOH I've thought since it was announced that Dragon was Lunar flyby capable it might be the better design; an unpressurized "trunk" in the SM, one re-configurable "can" for all missions, up to 7 passengers (same as shuttle) etc.

I'd also like someone to explain why, with the properly provisioned/powered SM, a flyby capable capsule like Dragon couldn't do Lunar orbit missions like Orions at a fraction of the cost?

I was browsing lockmart's space section and came across it. It didn't have some recently dated announcement with it so I guessed it had been up for a while.

Not sure if NASA is gonna do one soon, but it'd be nice to see any updates the engineering teams have made to it since like eg MFD config. (I know there was some discussion about that recently).

Very nice. But I wish there was more of mpeg or a virtual tour of the capsule....Like to see the hatch area and look out the window.

"SCE to AUX" - John Aaron, curiosity pays off
