It's been 45 years since I took Latin, but I seem to recall that Terra Sirenum would be "Land of the Sirens." Mare Sirenum would be "Sea of the Sirens." ?

Separately, a Siren is a bird-like creature (who lives on land) with the head of a girl. Their songs lured unwary seafarers onto the rocks as prey.
