Almost akin to orange soil moment on moon?

---------------------------------------------------------------

Nasa says its robot rover Spirit has made one of its most significant discoveries on the surface of Mars.

Scientists believe a patch of ground disturbed by the vehicle shows evidence of a past environment that would have been perfect for microbial life.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7137793.stm

this is getting off topic, who's to say Mars isn't an ideal planet for future life as Earth is today?
Took the Earth about a billion years for life to happen. Maybe mars will be lucky enough to collide with a 'supercomet' and in 2 billion years it will be suitable for life.
Do you think humans will be around for that? We've conquered and have over 100,000 years of experience in life. We know all.
