At this stage we are just starting on various tasks in organizing ideas and directions forward. I would like to know what you think for a human mission to Mars on the following priorities-

1. Technology Demonstrator Projects- What can be done here to work towards proof of concept for human missions, what are the higher priorities?

2. Pre Cursor unmanned missions- What would be the most useful for a human mission?

3. Mission Goals- What do you want the first human mission to accomplish?

4. Mission Profile- What should the mission look like? What options are there to accomplish the above goals in the most mass efficient way possible?

Just looking for suggestions and thoughts anyone here might have, based upon what we already know of Mars and factual data. We all have our own opinions on what we would like a mission to accomplish, some want it for future colonization steps others for searching for life, etc so let's see if we can integrate as many of these goals as possible instead of an either/or choice. I'll look forward to your responses.

Just an update to this, besides the design team forum we have going and our project site, we have opened a new yahoo groups discussion forum as neutral place for interested people to input without necessarily joining the design team and so you can get a feel for what we are doing with this design. Currently we have 10 in our team and are lead by Ron Cordes a retired Apollo engineer with extensive aerospace experience and we are looking for help in the many different areas this design has. You can find the new discussion group here-
/*Link removed pending investigation*/

Or if you would like to help us in other ways (or have any questions)let us know at info@marsdrive.com

A little background is in order for Frankmars or Marsman as he is known by on http://www.redcolony.com/forum/, http://www.newmars.com/forums/ and yes on http://www.marsdrive.com/phpBB2/ I too am as well working towards a mission design as a member of this team. MarsDrive is hoping to pool together the best minds that are willing to work on the project.

The new yahoo group web site was in hope to foster a nuetral ground approach but if you are really interested come and visit the MarsDrive site. There currently is an admin area setup for the team and if you have the right stuff you can be granted access to that area as well.

Currently the team is accessing all previous design reference materials as to aid in this project as part of the review process. We are seeking knowledgeable people who share a common vision of men walking and living on Mars to help.
