It's been a while since I have heard anything about the Martian face, and any new facts or thoughts about it. Some of the pictures were interesting, but has it fallen out of repute, into the realm of Art Bell? That was where I first heard of it anyway.

It has been reported, by other sources, that NASA and others are always about 5-10 years ahead of what they have reported to the public. A discovery channel news show a short time ago reported that a new type of space craft is in the works, but would be only available in the next 5-10 years or so. If that is so, any thoughts on them actually having a craft that could make the trip to Mars in 8 weeks or so, instead of the 6-8 months as reported. Ready for this one? I first heard of this from one of Art Bell's reputed guests, a space pilot that said he made the trip. Now that would be interesting.

I've never heard of this Art Bell you are talking about, but he sounds like some kind of crackpot. I don't think you should listen to anything he says.

I haven't heard of a selonia region, let alone a “face” on it. Is it anything like the infamous mesa in the Cydonia region of Mars?

Our Solar System must be passing through a Non Sequitur area of space.

You can learn more about both of them at www.coasttocoastam.com

But make sure you wear your tinfoil hat while on that site - or the aliens might be able to read your brainwaves and steal your soul!!!
Note to Dr. Henry: The testosterone shots are working!

Art Bell is on AM radio most evenings starting about 1:10 am eastern time. George Norry hosts the show some nights. I've listed for several thousand hours for the 25% that is stimulating and/or possibly true. A higher percentage than mainstream media. The good thing about the show is Art and the other hosts ask searching questions to help each guest/caller present his or her ideas, no matter how kooky they seem. That way the listener can decide for themselves instead of the hoast desiding. It is a lot like SETI forum on space.com except the topics are less specialized. Neil

Ok, I'll grant you that.

The good thing about the show is Art and the other hosts ask searching questions to help each guest/caller present his or her ideas, no matter how kooky they seem. The guy is a certifiable nut job, and he "leads the witness" to arrive at his conspiracy-filled, kooky conclusions.

(Ok, I admit, I'v listened to about 25-30 hours at the most...)

Note to Dr. Henry: The testosterone shots are working!

RE: Coast to Coast, Art Bell, George Noory and such like.

I have worked nights in bakeries and factories and such like, and this show helps the night go much faster. It has always been interesting and fun, and on occasion been enlightening as well. I affectionately have dubbed it the Far Side Show. When I have the time, I look forward to listening to it, and have on occasion(sp!!) turned it off, because it was a little to intense for me.The show is like reading and responding to some of the replies here in this forum, I enjoy and delight in it, but I DO NOT put much stock in the believibility of it. That does not stop expanding my mind into "what if" not one bit.

But to say that you have truly never heard of who or what this show is all about, you have my sympathy for living such a sheltered life.
Who out there remembers the shows about "Mel's hole" into the middle of the earth, or any of the Big Foot sounds or tales of the people?

Thanks for the update on the Martian face. It was as I thought it would be. But one of the latest movies about space flights to Mars goes along with the tales from the radio show and other sources. I forget the name of it, but it was the one that formed a rescue mission to save others on Mars. It formed the thought that earth was colonized by Martians fleeing their world. That one was better, I think, then the Val Kilmer one. Any thoughts on these movies?
Art Bell is a crackpot talkshow host,he believes in anything abnormal.. However, has anyone wondered why the sudden interest in sending craft to Mars? It's not just to find a bacterium or water,it's found something more profound. There are photos of structures on mars that are not natural, the same is true for the moon, the 1st astronauts to orbit our lunar neighbor described monoliths on the far side over 1000 feet high. Iwas a teenager and heard the radio broadcast at the time, but nothing ever was mentioned about it ever again. If someone could find the actual radio broadcast from that time you can hear them describe these objects.

They never mentioned monoliths - it's an invention that came along much later, thanks to crackpot UFO kooks.

There are no "Structures" on Mars - that nonsense goes all the way back to the 1800's - but it's time to join us in the 21st century.

But you ARE in the right forum for such sillyness.
Note to Dr. Henry: The testosterone shots are working!

You are in Error, I heard the astronauts voice say this,I was a teenager and a big space fanatic. I was listening to live radio from the 1st lunar flyby.

I am not in error - it was never said. The astronauts NEVER said there were "monoliths down there."

Go ahead, the transripts are on the web - go find what you SAY is there on Nasa's website. (I DID have a link to Apollo's transmissions at one time. I THINK they had ALL missions transcribed. OK, it might not have been NASA - not sure, but I KNOW the transcrips and even audio are available. Or were.)

Note to Dr. Henry: The testosterone shots are working!

I was just going to add my 2 cents worth to this discussion, and you beat me to it.
The only place I have heard of the monoliths on the moon was in the book, 2001, I think, and the movie with the actor from ST, Moonbase 44(?). Other then that you have to tune into Art Bell and listen to the Flat Earth Society and the controversy of the moon landing, and other such nonsense.

Actually, at least someone, probably thousands of people, made recordings of those broadcasts. Transcipts have been made of them all. Now, if NASA had changed any of those transcripts, or altered the recordings, we would certainly have heard or seen copies of the originals by now. We haven't. I think that the only correction I have seen is when Neil Armstrong said "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." It was later edited to say "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." which I believe is what he intended to say. That is confirmed by Snopes in the article, One Small Misstep

Our Solar System must be passing through a Non Sequitur area of space.

This was the first flyby of the moon,I don't believe it was a landing. I Did error I believe sorry, the word used was obelisks not monoliths. This was on the radio as the ist humans saw the far side close up.

I remember thinking of the washington monument at the time, and wondering how that would be on the moon unless someone built it. It's been a long time,I don't know why I mentioned monolith, maybe 2001
