If methane exists in mars then life may exist as well.Eh?

It is possible, but it could also be volcanic activity. Here is ESA's article about the discovery.

odysseus145 - OK, that was from March, and the article indicated that in the weeks to follow they would try to determine if volcanic activity would cause the 10 parts in a billion trace presence of methane (CH4).

Is there an update?

Methane is more stable than more complex biological compounds, which is why earth has vast methane deposits from ages ago.,

Volcanic activity is not necessary. It could simply be seepage from underground deposits of methane.

Chemical evolutionists propose early earth had methane BEFORE life, and that life chemically evolved from this gas plus ammonia (NH3) and water (H2O)- however there is no reasonable chemical pathway that has been demonstrated experimentally to produce life, not to mention simpler molecules like statistical proteins, in this way.

And geological deposits do not confirm large amounts of methane on early earth.

That being said, methane can be caused by various other methods- which is why methane is located on other planets and moons.

It simply involves combining Hydrogen (H2) and carbon (C). These elements are more likely to combine to form CO2 and H2O in the presence of oxygen (O2).

Oxygen is the most abundant element in earth's crust.
