New information on roughly half a billion stars in our Milky Way. There has to be a fair number of solar systems with planets among those. The odds that Earth hosts the only life forms within our galaxy have got to be microscopically small. Toss in a billion other galaxies all with their own stars and solar systems and that shrinks to atom size. We just need a way to 'peer' at other planets and see them.
