Reality is probably twofold: we did go to the Moon, but the photographic proof of the landings was staged.

Or we really went to Mars and just said the photographs were of the moon, when it was really Mars.

Yep, we all know now that we couldn't go to the moon because moon doesn't exist. I am wondering if they figured that out when they were heading to the moon and saw it didn't exist and they decided to just go on to the moon since they were already out in space anyway.

Actually, the "Moon" is really a giant circular Coca-Cola logo sign that's closer than you think (LEO). Some anti-corporate Greenpeace advocates hijacked a an alien spaceship and went up there and painted craters and mares everywhere to make it look like a moon.

just for the sake of argument, not that I like arguing, what if only the first landing was faked just to be sure they beat the Russians. :roll:

I personally think the government is too bloated to fake anything for more than a week.

If the first moon landing were faked, how did they fake the astronauts that a whole lot of people saw getting into the ship, blasting off, were tracked by radar, not only by us but the Russians also. What did they do up there? Play cards?

Again, for the sake of argument. We could have had a lunar orbiter, even a manned craft. That would be what they tracked. We all know videos are easy to fake. Even the LRO photos that I have seen don't show a definitive landing site for Apollo 11 like it does for the others.

That's hilarious! I saw that clip a couple of years ago and have been looking for it. Thanks for the link. Does anyone know where that came from? Somebody spent alot of effort on that clip.

I remember when I was younger and thought JFK was killed by the CIA/mafia/more than one gunman. Then when I matured I researched it and found there was no "magic bullet" needed. I still can't believe a large percentage of Americans think the JFK assassination was a government conspiracy.

After forty years you'd think the Apollo deniers would give it up already. We now have satellite imagery from NASA, as well as other countries taking images of our junk leftover on the moon. I can't believe this "discussion" still exists in some circles.

Kerb- Where is the evidence that JFK was about to 'blow the whistle' that we couldn't get to the Moon (by 1970)? Of course, everyone knows we couldn't get to the Moon before 1964. But how would anybody know what we'd be capable of by mid-late 1969?

I'm not saying that there weren't a lot of bright people who said it couldn't be done, for all kinds of reasons. Some of those reasons are hard to fathom. Many geologists and planetary scientists thought that the moon wouldn't support the lander!! That it would fall through the lunar surface! Now how could they have thought that when it's obvious that the Moon had withstood enormously more powerful impacts from aggregation and cosmic collisions?

Some other scientists said they wouldn't be able to pass through the magnetosphere, or that if they did, they would be instantly fried and vaporized by cosmic rays. Like Carl Sagan said, "Great intelligence and intellect are no guarantees against being dead wrong."

I'm with Kubrick. I wish all the moon landing conspiracy theorists would go hang out at Dungeons and Dragons.com or some other woo woo site.

I think Kennedy was killed by cats. He caught a couple of cats talking to each other and threatened to blow the whistle that cats actually can talk - english no less. They had to kill him or people would have started demanding that their cats stop sleeping all day and go out and get a job!

Re JFK - I just thought of a new conspiracy theory. He WASN'T assassinated at all! He's still alive, just like Elvis and Michael Jackson. It was a JFK double that took the bullets from LHO, the Mafia, the CIA, the Boy Scouts, or whoever. All I need to do now is think of a reason why and how that could happen. (But it's no good me posting it here as it will be off topic, because this is the "NASA didn't really land on the moon" thread.)

So we're containing them? You make them sound like a virus or Communism. (Actually quite fitting.) But like a virus-and as you say and IMO- we should "quarantine" "them"! Why do you and I think this? Because no matter what HARD evidence is put before "them", they ignore it. And if they respond to it, it's always: "I saw it in a movie", or, "I saw it on the 'History Channel' ", or, "I know it's true because a cop, a preacher, and a physics teacher SAID they saw it!!" (Now come on, we all know that a cop, a preacher, and a physics teacher would never lie!!! :lol: ) These are "reliable" witnesses for something (anything) that's never been documented, filmed or photographed.

I'm sick of it as well Zen. I'm sick of going over the same old arguments again and again trying to explain why the moon landing "hoax" is a load of tripe. In fact on other boards now I usually just give a link to http://www.clavius.org/ as there seems to be no point in re-inventing the wheel every time.

At least if the hoax believers are just contained in this one thread though, it keeps the topic away from the rest of the board and there is at least a chance that they might learn something. Same goes for the Nibiru / 2012 thing and the thread we have pinned for that!

I hear you brother from across the pond. I just wish we could 'contain' them somewhere else! :lol: Export, deport, ostricize, exile, ban, banish and totally kick out! But, as you imply, containment is better than proliferation. :|
