I believe I know (have seen) the movie you're asking about. As long as the men stayed on the rocks they were safe. The sand creature had long tentacles or such and at one point the men crossing the sand ocean were trapped on a small rock, just offshore from where their gun was. I think the movie revolved around the 2'nd crew to go to this planet. They were trying to figure out what happened to crew #1. It was in color, maybe made in the early 60's. I can't recall the title, maybe it'll come to me.

-----------------------------------------------------

Ask not what your Forum Software can do do on you,

Ask it to, please for the love of all that's Holy, STOP !

Much like the old Twilight Zone, which IMHO was even far better than the Outer Limits.

Still, it had some great episodes..I reacll one with an energy dustball that was great.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. IIRC, it starred the bad guy in Fantastic Voyage.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Monsters. Actually, right actor, wrong episode. My bad. Ed Asner starred in "It Crawled Out of the Woodwork"

The one I'm thinking of is "The Man with the Power" Season 1 episode 4. Now I don't know the plot of that one.

Great, now I have to try and find a copy of both episodes

But the Krell forgot one thing John. You're recalling an episode of the outstanding 1960's series The Outer Limits. That particular episode was called The Invisible Enemy.

Well we haven't heard back from the OP but FWIW ... CE has correctly got the title of the show I was remembering. Funny I have a "vision" of it being in color but like they say, memory is the 2'nd thing to go with age. I do recall () that "Batman" was not at the top of his form in this episode. Makes you wonder how he later landed the Batman role in the original Batman show ?

-----------------------------------------------------

Ask not what your Forum Software can do do on you,

Ask it to, please for the love of all that's Holy, STOP !

Screamers with Peter Wellers was about people who went to Sirius 6 and encountered the screamers. It seems I remember some of them hiding in the sand.

Does Screamers involve insect like robots or robots at least?

Yes, there were Type 1s that were small, vaguely like a horseshoe crab but with a buzzsaw head. They crawled on or under the ground. Later Types were humanoid in form and so could infiltrate the bases. A passable B flick if you've got nothing better to do. Which is more that I can say about Runaway.

-----------------------------------------------------

Ask not what your Forum Software can do do on you,

Ask it to, please for the love of all that's Holy, STOP !

I just thought it was neat to see Gene Simmons without his KISS rock star makeup.

A scene from the film Detroit Rock City made me laugh, when the devoutly religious mother decries KISS as, "Kights I the Srvice of Stan!"

I just thought it was neat to see Kirstie Alley strip down to her bra...before she got all fat.
