Why so many Ford products? Egad. Reminds me of that SciFi series that revolved around a Dodge Viper with some high tech innards. That show had 90% Chrysler company products.
What was that mark on Deanna Russo's throat for?
I think that they need to discuss what happened to KITT (the original) after Knight Rider 2000. He had a new body and a new life. FLAG was still around, only with new management. Also, I assume that this series means that Knight Rider 2010 never happens.
KITT would be better if they could have found a way to keep the old AI. That had more experience.

How did the driver of the SUV survive the crash at the end?
KITT should have been pushed a good 40 feet after being impacted by that fast moving SUV.
They couldn't combine the "Molecular Bonded Shell" from the original KITT in the new car with the nanotech?

/ol>That is all for the moment, but more may come.

Added on 2-18-2008/safety_wrapper>

Will Pittenger
Add this user box to your Wikipedia User Page to show your support for the SDC forums:
{{User:Will Pittenger/User Boxes/Space.com Account}}

I heard that Val Kilmer did the voice of KITT.

Not bad. We'll see how the subsequent installments go.

Hard to use a Pontiac Firebird again when they haven't been made since 2002

IMO the only comparable GM vehicle would have been the 2010 Chevy Camaro, but it's not to come out until next September and after "Transformers" as Bumble Bee it's tied strongly to that franchise making its use as KITT problematic.

The Dodge Charger might have been a good choice too, but I'm sure Ford put up a bigger bid for the product placement plus the Shelby is just plain HOT.

William Daniels (also of St. Elsewhere & 1776) was the original voice of KITT, but he's 81 now and they didn't want to risk the series outliving a major character...or his voice.

My review,

As to Will's assessment of all those Ford's shown, two words, product placement!!!

The development was nice, and the tie in to the old Michael Knight was good. Totally unlike TC kicking (or keeping) ALL the old people from the original series off the making of Mission Impossible.

There also seemed to be the possibility for the old Michael to star with the new one in some future show, (from the funeral scene).

But the plot development caused me to think back to the lack of one in the movie Jumper I just saw. They could have used some better plot work there, and even I could tell the spot where it could have been inserted. But enough about that.

This Knight Rider was way better then that last K.R. for sure. That one had just to MANY inside puns and jokes to be taken serious.

I recorded it and watched it last night.

I too liked the fact that David Hasselhoff was included even just as a cameo. But there were some things that just didn't seem right.

-KITT's voice. I know the original guy who did the voice is too old now. But the voice just isn't right
-What happened to the Foundation?
-What happened to the original KITT?
-Are we supposed to forget the made for TV movies that occurred after the original series ended it's run?
- While a Mustang Cobra is a hot car, it just doesn't seem like KITT
- And yes, too much product placement. The show seemed like a car advertisement more than a pilot for a new series.
Don't let your sig line incite a gay thread ;>)

In reply to:

What happened to the original KITT?

If we believe the events of Knight Rider 2000, KITT was disassembled some time prior to the start of that movie. All that was left included his brain, scanner, and voice modulator.

In reply to:

Are we supposed to forget the made for TV movies that occurred after the original series ended it's run?

As noted, Knight Rider 2010, is clearly toast. However, Knight Rider 2000 is another story.

Will Pittenger
Add this user box to your Wikipedia User Page to show your support for the SDC forums:
{{User:Will Pittenger/User Boxes/Space.com Account}}

The Cylons watched it. They laughed. Lucifer turned and ask, "WHAT?".

They laughed harder.
