BallSportsGear@Admin,

The project seeks to investigate how diurnal and nocturnal animals react to the eclipse, exploring changes in vocalizations and behavior. The goal is to collect diverse data to understand the impact on various ecosystems. The inclusive nature of the project accommodates participants of all skill levels and those with visual impairments.

Roles in the project include "data analysts" for post-eclipse audio data analysis, "apprentices" for online eclipse studies, and various other roles, each rewarded with a downloadable certificate. The success of the project relies on the voluntary contributions of participants, highlighting the significance of citizen science in expanding data collection across the eclipse path.

In summary, the Eclipse Soundscapes Project offers an engaging opportunity for the public to actively contribute to scientific research, emphasizing the broader sensory aspects of eclipses and their potential effects on the natural world.

I know during the 2017 eclipse, I was in the eastern part of Oregon in one of the wilderness areas. It was interesting to hear the coyotes start howling and the crickets start chirping during the eclipse.
