Oh boy, I can see it now:

"OK, Houston, the virtual rake is perfect for the regolith here, and...who the...swords???"

"Drop the stick, Pillsbury Boy, and hand over your Lindens!"

It's those pesky Barsoomian orcs that always get into the lander that troubles me...

Actually, this would be pretty cool. But they would have to make it at a level that even non-scientists might enjoy. perhaps the game would be layered with scenarios. In one case it would be a pure Apollo-J type mission where you go out and do interesting field geology. In another layer perhaps it is a similar mission only the "quest" is to find a Martian fossil (with a big disclaimer that although it might be hopeful thinking, as yet there are no 100% agreed upon Martian fossils...etc)

I would like to see this happen.

v3k

I can see it now: "Let's design a space ship"

You go through all the political BS then end up with a launcher that shakes itself apart or folds in half at Max-Q

It sounds extremely cool, as long as powergamers don't take hold of all of 'your' oxigen.
