Well worth the time, effort and, money if we can learn enough details to prevent/forestall the Earth becoming a "Crispy Critter" like Venus. In addition, any Venus data may be useful in ruling out potential candidates for human colonization. Personal opinion: The increasing luminosity of the Sun combined with our rapacious life styles will speed up what would naturally happen to Earth. The time frame seems to be any ones' estimate/guess/ scare tactic. Hopefully, these Venus missions will provide insights.
