NASA's DART spacecraft, humanity's first asteroid defense mission, is less than one month from launch

My guess: the mildly, PC acceptable term "asteroid defense" gives the sundry politicians more leverage to gouge out more tax money by "scaring / worrying" the citizens. Whatever term works that enables Earth to prevent, or deflect, or destroy potential E.L.E. asteroids/comets is OK with me. However, I am a "card carrying" member of the "smash, bash, splatter, vaporize" Edward Teller school of thought; I would have coined the harsh term "asteroid killer", (i.e.: to get more tax monies).
