Wondering what the actual projected longevity of the engraved names and essays on the placard are estimated to be as the names and essays are microscopically engraved and will be bombarded by cosmic rays, hard UV, micro-meteorites, and potentially corrosive compounds on Martian surface. Going thru that much trouble (and extra flight weight), it would be a shame if it is only survivable for a few years, instead of centuries. Anyone?
