New type of Kevlar heading to ISS in October for space debris protection tests

Timely. I just watched a video on this a few days ago on one of the streaming space channels. They emphasize the weight here, but I was really impressed on the shielding abilities. The momentum is dissipated before it gets to the skin of craft.

And think it verifies that we will be able to shield from much faster and larger objects. This also can apply to particle radiation. This research is paying off.

Shielding might not be a show stopper. And might encourage space assembly. A needed common skill.

But we still need gravity during space travel. And power generation.

I believe the video was on Pluto Live if interested. I can’t recall channel/network.
