News and update PMs

I have "Receive news and update emails" set to off. Nothing personal; I set these types of notifications off for EVERY site. However, this doesn't seem to cover notifications of new private messages from staff regarding news and updates. Ideally I'd like to continue receiving email notifications for private messages, just not the news and update ones. If this isn't possible then I may have to disable that notification type too. Any advice? Thanks.

Send a private response to the sender to remove you from the mailing list. That should do the trick.

Did that. Didn't receive any messages after July 27 2021 until Jan 31. Received 2 messages since then. So it was a temporary fix.
