OT, Kennedy Space Center visit

I'm visiting Florida next week, and want to make a visit to Kennedy Space center, does anyone know if you can visit the older launch areas at Kennedy, I want to take some photographs of the old Launch complex 34 and other historic spots. Is it possible to drive around, or visit via space center tour?

I was on that bus tour many years ago - they have probably changed it since. The only place I remember getting out was at the big concrete dome blockhouse that was used on the earliest Apollo missions. It was pretty desolate - just an empty shell. You see a recreation of this in the HBO "Earth to the Moon" series. In fact the entire tour is somewhat depressing. Like that Saturn V lying on its side; that was a *real* one that was built and never used.
