Not sure if this is the correct forum or if anyone cares, but to denounce Pluto as a planet simply because it is a dwarf planet is the same as saying dwarfed people are not human...

For many years after it’s discovery by Clyde Tombaugh, telescopes just didn’t have the resolution, and they thought it wasn’t much smaller than the earth. 1989 saw the resolution into two bodies, each itty bitty tiny and they have since discovered that it’s just one of many of such bodies. More like comparing sparrows to turkeys, or baboons to humans. On the other hand, there may be earth size bodies in the Oort Cloud or around other stars who’s orbits are controlled by giants. The definitions of planets/dwarf planets/minor planets will certainly be revised many times. The first few asteroids discovered in the early 1800s were classed as planets because they moved, until they discovered their nature, then the new class asteroids was created. These bodies really don’t care what we call them, they just go about their business. Nomenclature is a human thing.
