Well, Pike's career is careening towards Talos IV; there's no avoiding that.
Unless, of course, they make so much money that they decide to switch to an Alternate Universe, where he goes on for several more seasons. Gene is no longer there to keep them on course, and they've already deconstructed the Original Star Trek Universe, so all's fair in love and SiFi. I simply wish they'd delete "Star Trek" from it, so that we all know they're making crap up!
