I can't think of any Mars application for nanotechnology at the present level of nanotechnology. With very optimistic projections, many uses are likely. As far as I know docking on Mars will be similar to docking at the international space station or Mir except gravity is about 1/2 Earth gravity and dust and chemicals in the atmosphere will be a hazzard to the docking mechanism. The usual double door air lock will be used and humans will need a space suit similar to those used on the moon and for EVA = extra vehicular activity. Neil
