Red/Green flashing lights in the eastern sky

I noticed flashing red and green lights in the eastern night sky at about 9 PM. I found a reference on the internet about Zodiacal Light. Could this be a plausable explaination for the phenomenon. The lights appear to be stationary.

Zodiacal light is a very faint diffuse glow which would not be visible under full moon conditions.<br />Check out the thread linked above.<br />It's a Sirius thread <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" /> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#000080"><em><font color="#000000">But the Krell forgot one thing John.
