Imagine a remake of the worst movie of all time, but this time with decent actors and a sufficient budget for jaw-dropping special effects. Could you turn a turkey into a gem?

WHAT FOR, FOR FORKSAKE?.

Why not make Ringworld?. Or The World of Tiers?

What is the regression, the infantile obsession the USA has with its childhood?.

LETS MAKE NEW MOVIES, they been DONE before.

Crikey.

(except King Kong, thats different)

I second that! There are so many good sci-fi and fantasy books that have never been adapted for television and movies.

You can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear; why should Plan 9 be different?

I think it would be interesting to try.

I have to agree. I'm so sick of remakes. I was joking with my friend about selling the movie rights to our Message board. With the way this summer's been going, with almost exclusively remakes, i'm starting to think it's not such a bad plan

What I am sick of is remakes of TV shows. Let's see: There was Charlies Angels, Mission Impossible, Bewitched, Lost in Space, My Favorite Martian. I can't wait for "Flipper."

I can't wait for "Flipper."

It'll be called "Flopper" before Fall ends.

It shouldn't be a remake, it should be a sequel - then in true Hollywood fashion it could called:

"Plan 10 from Outer Space."

Johnny Depp did such an awesome job in "Ed Wood", that somehow they've just got to offer him a role in a "Plan 9" remake or sequel!

I kind of doubt that he'd take it, and the moviemakers probably couldn't afford him anyway. He does seem to gravitate towards the weird roles, though...you never know.

Johnny Depp on his worst acting day is still a whole lot better than Tom Cruise.

Those were the shows of my childhood. And I'm sick of them.

Well, Starskey and Hutch was pretty bloody funny, you have to admit!.

I like the sequel idea. Directed by Tim Burton. But having ZERO budget or special effects. Filmed in Ed Wood style. It'd be the biggest comedy hit of the year!

As you sit here and speculate on a *possible* remake, I'm already writing and directing a stage version, due to premiere in Jacksonville, Florida, in mid-October! This is not a joke!! Go to:
http://www.PlanNineIsComing.com

If anyone would like to re-watch Plan 9 without resorting to Bittorrent, you can unlock the full-length version of the movie (alone with Teenagers from Outer Space) by beating the game Destroy All Humans for XBox.

Yes. Turkeys are carbon-based after all. But you would need a LOT of pressure. :p

That is great! I would definitely go to see it, if I had the chance.
