Researchers find first evidence of pencil material on the Mo

Graphite, the same material found in pencils, was found on the moon after scientists reviewed a piece of lunar rock that was collected nearly 40 years ago. This latest evidence could provide some insight into cosmic impacts.
Last month, the moon made headline news in the science world when a new study showed that our only satellite has 100 times more water than previously estimated, which was mostly preserved from the hot magma when the moon was forming some 4.5 billion years ago.

The web site is hard to understand .But saying carbon did not start on earth but came from the moon.So no moon no carbon .

Likely the original said something like "the trace of carbon likely came from the moon instead of being a contamination of graphite from Earth." I don't think any scientists think a significant portion of the carbon on earth came from the moon. Editing may have caused the misunderstanding. Neil
