Scientists chip away at secrets of planet formation, origin of life in bevy of new research

Indeed, *A whopping 20* here. Consider what space.com report stated. "Overall, the research shows that there's plenty more to learn about what surrounds young stars, how planets form and what that means for the universe and life's prospects in it." I dug into this 20 papers a bit more. Using NASA ADS Abstract, many reports are out. "Molecules with ALMA at Planet-forming Scales (MAPS)", easy to search the NASA ADS Abstract for these papers. Here is an example. Molecules with ALMA at Planet-forming Scales (MAPS) XVII: Determining the 2D Thermal Structure of the HD 163296 Disk, https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2021arXiv210906202C/abstract, September 2021. The paper is 26 page arXiv paper, https://arxiv.org/pdf/2109.06202.pdf

The introduction says, "This study determines the 2D temperature structure of the disk around HD 163296, as part of the ALMA MAPS project, which observed five protoplanetary disks at high resolution. Each disk is detailed in Öberg & MAPS team (2021). HD 163296 is a Herbig Ae star with a stellar mass of 2.0 Msun (Andrews et al. 2018; Wichittanakom et al. 2020) surrounded by a massive disk (8 × 10^−3 - 5.8 × 10^−1 Mstar) (Kama et al. 2020, and references therein) 101 pc away (Gaia Collaboration et al. 2018; Bailer-Jones et al. 2018)."

My note. The protoplanetary disk model allows disk mass for HD 163296 to range 5527 earth masses up to 386214 earth masses. Apply this range to the Sun as a one solar mass star and we have upper mass limit for the proto-sun and early solar system accretion disk model, 193107 earth masses, and the lower value 2763 earth masses. This is a very large disk mass range reported. Now we have nature convert C, and O into people today from such a starting condition using the protoplanetary disk model(s) and catastrophism in the early solar system. Abiogenesis works wonders in such a primordial soup it seems. It would be good to see a short, concise summary of protoplanetary disk masses found or used in these 20 new papers, and how such a disk mass range could be applied to our Sun and solar system, without having to read through all 20 in the arXiv papers :)
