Shuttle Airlock

I was wondering during the Shuttle-Mir Program did the all shuttles keep their internal airlocks and have the orbiter docking system or did they just remove the internal one ? I was wondering since I had looked at picture from STS-71 or 74 and it looked like the shuttle had it's internal airlock.

The internal airlock was removed before the docking system/airlock was installed.
