I noticed on the Google Map (http://maps.google.com/) then enter "Kennedy Space Center, FL" as suggested in another thread) that the Shuttle Landing Facility is *much* closer to the VAB than I ever imagined!

Is the Shuttle (along with other aircraft using that runway) restricted to approaches from the NW or are SE approaches possible?

>Is the Shuttle (along with other aircraft using that runway) restricted to approaches from the NW or are SE approaches possible?
Landings can occur on either runway (15 or 33), but I believe that the prevailing winds are such that015 is the more commonly chosen direction.

>Do other aircraft ever use the SLF?
Yes. Most NASA air traffic into and out of KSC uses the SLF.
