It was so disappointing to watch Robert Bigelow become his own worst enemy and run his company into the ground. I'm really glad Sierra Space (or anyone!) continued pursuing this incredibly promising technology.
The test module on the ISS has outperformed all expectations and what was anticipated as a VERY short-term technology demonstration turned out to be a permanent addition to the ISS, having weathered the harshness of space and micrometeoroid / debris impacts far better than the existing modules! Had Bigalow continued as a company it's very likely we'd have demonstration modules on orbit already for the future commercial stations.
I think this technology will also be critical for building Lunar and Mars habitats, be it on the surface and buried in regolith or within the promising underground lava tubes.
