and i just had a little "test" in my back garden, saw one faint and one quite bright meteor, and an iridium flare i had been waiting all day to see, hopefully if the weather keeps up i will be outside all thursday night/friday morning from about 11 5 day forecast says clear, but knowing my typical English luck it will cloud over (always happens!!)

who else will be outside for this years show?

Yes, weather permitting, I'll be out there watching.
I did it last year, and saw around 20 or so. Taht was form about 3:45 - 4:45am. It was hazy though, so I'm hoping for clearer skies, better viewing and higher numbers this year!

At least you're getting weather that conducive to watching. We haven't had rain for several weeks, and now this week: rain, rain, clouds, clouds. Ugh! I know the local farmers need it, but I'm hopeful that at least for Friday's peak, it'll clear up some.

ahh unlucky, hope it clears up for ya ...i'm not going to follow weather predictions too closely anymore because it keeps changing all the time! should be mostly clear tonight to maybe get a little viewing time in, if im not too tired ....need to charge up for the peak!!! probably sleep until the afternoon tomorrow so i can stay up all tomorrow night/friday morn

Well, I dragged myself up and out around 3:30. I counted 17 'for sure's', (up from last year - YAY!) and several (4) that were so far out of peripheral that I'm not sure I actually saw them/should count them. It was incredibily muggy-hazy here, so I'm blaming the humidity for not seeing more. I'm glad I saw the ones that I did though, but one year I hope to see the 'hundreds per hour' that others have counted.
It was really nice though, just to be out!

I missed the peak unfortunately, my area has had full cloud cover for the past few days. Some times Mother Nature can be so cruel.
