Hello everyone and welcome to the launch (or should we say relaunch) of the Space.Com forums.
We’re so excited to have this forum up and running and to be seeing visitors old and new here, the home of Space discussion.
Here's a rundown on the awesome stuff we have planned for launch week!
Introduce yourself...
First of all we’d love for you to read the forum rules and introduce yourself, and to let us know a little more about you, post your coolest bit of Space swag, art or memorabilia! If you know of anyone with anything cool, rare or incredibly nerdy please do encourage them to post in our swag thread here!
Win some swag...
For our Launch Event we are giving away a Telescope! Follow the instructions on our giveaway widget for your chance to win a Celestron - 114LCM Computerized Newtonian Telescope. Create an account on our forums, post a fact about space in our competition thread, and add your username in our giveaway widget to confirm your entry. (Entries are sweepstake only, one entry per user, no purchase or talent necessary). This sweepstake is now live!
Ask NASA...
We have Knowledge Specialist at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Charles White doing an AMA this week. Charles is unique, in that not only does he appeal to our scientific and technical readers for his amazing job at NASA. He's currently on route to EVE Vegas to fulfil his duties as EVE Online's Space Pope (more on that later), but you can pre-populate the AMA thread with questions here.
Get Involved...
There's already some discussion threads open to get stuck into, but it doesn't all have to be real science! The SPACE.com community is a celebration of everything SPACE, so feel free to talk about movies, scifi, fantasy art, and everything surrounding the wonderful fandom that is space.
Think you know what the greatest scifi series of all time is? Head over here to let us know.
Want to know how to install Kerbal Space Program mods? We've got a thread here with all the info.
Have cool images to share? Add them to our Media Gallery.
Any questions or ideas? Feel free to head on over to the forum feedback section, and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
Engage!
