Well, we have here a collection of atleast one space doctor, a few masters of space science, B.Sc and undergrad students, but I'm not sure if anybody has specialized in thermodynamics in space.

Might well be, so let's hope you'll find a suitable person.

Ian,

I'm no longer in the recruiting business but a few thoughts:

1. Are you looking internationally or only in the UK?

2. Many aerospace companies have at least one side of the house that deals with a government. Typically some or ALL employees would be required to apply for and receive some variety of security clearance as a condition of continued employment.

3. That's a very good specialty that you've put two years into. Stateside many full up payload systems as well as build components have to go thru some variety of TVAC. Either for test or simple out-gassing of volatiles.

4. I might suggest you look at a UK-based recruiting agency. Internationally you might try Monster as a place to start.

5. Other outlets for your background: ESA, NASA, JPL.

6. There is also some aerospace in Australia.

7. Try to look down as many avenues as possible.

Good luck in your job search.

Have you considered the Isle of Man. There is a small but succesfully growing space sector there.

SDC Article

Space Biz focus

Isle of Man Space Sector

Also, check out ManSat and ComSym. There was also a recent launch of a satellite with connections to this endeavor. These organizations are more operational than hardware, of course, but they might have leads or you might find some avenue you haven't thought of before.

Also, here is a fairly exhaustive listing of links to UK aerospace related job listing s and services:

Further UK and international sites that offer Aviation jobs
