For anyone that would like a decent overview of private enterprise's spaceflight efforts, check out this article from Time.com:

The Space Cowboys

There's not much depth here, just a quick sketch of the major players.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. Unsuccessful rebellions, indeed, generally establish the encroachments on the rights of the people which have produced them. An observation of this truth should render honest republican governors so mild in their punishment of rebellions as not to discourage them too much. It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government."

Thomas Jefferson

Thanks for the link. Time mag just made points with me.

Man, it's nice to see this stuff in the MSM. That is not a badly written article. Oh sure, we could pick some nits here and there, but nothing worth getting worked up about. ("Fuel Tanks", hehehe)

It appears that the writer, "Brian Smith", is a pseudonym. I like checking out good writers, and had never heard of him, but quick googling came up empty for that name doing previous articles anywhere.

Whoever it is, he (she?) was on that island with all those rich folks. Add the lack of any self-referential words at all, and I'm thinking this writer could be a name we would recognize, but not as a writer.

IOW, I'm thinking the writer is one of the movers and shakers, an early customer ("Founder") if not an actual industry insider. Someone more interested in getting the word out than self-promotion. Very interesting.

D'oh! It's no fun being an idiot. Perhaps I'll try to cut down on that. How in the heck did I miss that by-line? Wow.

It was the browser's fault, yeah, that's it, that's the ticket. The Illuminati blocked the byline from my vision. A Jedi mind trick, no doubt.
