Thank you, jcdenton.

I don't like it being on Friday nights though. That won't help ratings...

I don't like it being on Friday nights though. That won't help ratings...

Hmmm, why is this? Is it because of the TGIF line-up? I can assure you, Star Trek is viewed by an entirely different subculture of people, mainly us geeks.

That's why Al Gore invented VCRs.

Since President-Elect Gore won't be running for re-election this year, I don't think a harmless little joke will bother him.

I'm sorry, but ENTERPRISE has NO cult status whatsoever that would motivate ANYONE to sit in front of the TV on Friday nite!!!

No sir, not if this board is any indication!

Still, though......the ONLY object of cult veneration in the ENTIRE series is a certain portion of T'Pol's anatomy!!!

Oh that too! However diehard Star Trek fans, like me, will watch anything Berman and Braga serve. This and the fact that there's little else to watch but the usual reality-TV pile of dog feces, means there's going to be large following of Enterprise for a long while to come. I should also add that there's a rumour floating around Star Trek forums that after this series, there's going to be an absence of a new show for a few years.

If "Star Trek" goes "off-the-air" then it HAS to be seen as throwing down the gauntlet to government planners to take the NEXT BIG STEP and extend The Monroe Doctrine all the way to the asteroid belt!!!

Nah, I wouldn't connect the dots to NASA policy, I'd rather attribute this to viewership strategy. Too much of anything is bad, and that's why a cool-down period is needed. After many years of Star Trek off the air, Trekies would begin to salivate over a new series, that's when the suprise attack happens. Remember when ST:TNG premiered? The viewership was in the 10s of millions!

Speaking of Star Trek.. There is an 11th movie in the works. Supposed to take place after Enterprise and before Kirk..

"Is that the Capt. Pike era?"

Hmmmm, dunno.. Maybe just before Pike?

There is a 100 year gap between Enterprise and Kirk's era. So no, probably not in Pike's era...
Don't let your sig line incite a gay thread ;>)

I LIKE Enterprise and I will watch it each and every Friday until it's eventual cancellation. Its the only Star Trek we have and I find it quite entertaining, certainly better than Voyager. The reason it has been allowed to survive another year is so Paramount can syndicate it.
While I enjoyed Farscape even more, Enterprise will be killed due entirely for financial reasons, not because it sucks. Farscape was cancelled due to poor ratings even though they still had a respectable size audience. I expect Enterprise to suffer the same fate at the end of this season.

I have an idea, why not take the Ent "B" era, and pick up the (mis) adventures of the ship from there. Then when this or that actor gets to pricy his character leaves the ship and is replaced by a new crew member/memberette. Who will go on in their place...Not unlike the real navy. (Thus breaking the 5 year budget limit.)

When the ship gets a major mod/refit we are there to see it happen. Old/favorite characters can return for guest shots et al. In this way story lines can be expanded upon with out being detrimental to the show.

An example of this would be the board of inquery which would take place immedately after Kirk being sucked into La-La land or whereever that thing was. Bozo the captian gets demoted to shuttle driver, and Chekov gets his own ship (Potemkin) for valours services rendered. A new captian (star trek character TBD) is promoted to command the Enterprise at the behest of Admiral Sulu, (we get to see father and daughter together). The "B" is gets a second maiden voyage and is off to boldy go...

" will watch it each and every Friday until it's eventual cancellation"

I think this is likely to be the last season for Trek, I can't see them renewing for another. Then there will be a break. In about 5 years, a new Trek will emerge.

What are you? Pro Nazi? Allying yourself with the murderers of 3 million innocent people during WWII is no way to get people to respect your opinions. And please, no rants about the Holocaust being fake any other such nonsense.

You're getting far too worked up because of a show.

Anyhow... We'll see how it goes with tonight's episode (I can't wait!).

Holy guacamole, tonight's episode was AWFUL!

[SPOILER ALERT]

So Vosk and Silik are dead, Daniels is alive, the timeline is returned to normal, and the Temporal War is over all in the snap of a finger!? And I was expecting this to carry over the season! These timeline parallax stories are in desparate need of change. I can't remember an episode this disappointing since in Voyager, when the ship was instantly reconstructed in a flash without a scratch after being blown up because someone hit a "reverse" switch.

I thought the episode was OK. Besides, time travel is way overdone in the "Star Trek" franchise anyhow, in my opinion. Now the writers are free to focus storylines on other facets of the "ST: Enterprise" universe.

As Captain Janeway said once about time travel paradoxes, "The past is the future, the future is the past...the whole thing gives me a headache."

I agree, I was also very dissapointed in last nights episode.

I actually missed the part where everything was fixed back to normal. I turned away from the TV (still in 20th century Nazi world) for a moment to show my Mom something on the computer. When I turned back towards the TV everything was normal again. I was away from the TV for less than a minute. Everything should not be resolved in such a short time. That sucked.

The temporal war is over and you think that is a bad thing? This is the answer to my prayers. Unfortunately I have a feeling we'll be seeing silik again, it is a temporal war you know. Now that Enterprise has returned to its proper timeline they can begin moving toward something really interesting. The Romulan war of 2156-2160 that leads to the formation of the Federation in 2161.

The episode was not very thought provoking but then , there's still a whole season to go...I remember season 3 started slow and picked up steam towards the end.
anyway, after all these "linked" epsisodes...would be good to have some "stand alone" ones like in the good old TOS days....I'm thinking maybe while the Nx-01 is being repaired, they hop on to NX-02 with new stuff and perhaps the introduction of the shield? :)

To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before...

Live Long and Prosper

Well I think this was their way of killing the temporal thing for now. I guess they heard the fans cries of pain and this was the quick fix. Now they can immediately begin moving in a new direction without waisting several episodes on the subject. The new direction is apparently something to do with Dr. Soong's ancestor, so we get to see Brent Spiner again. After that they go visit Vulcan and get some culture, guess T'Pol needs a vacation, or it's been seven years.
