Just started watching all the Star Trek Next Generation series on DVD. Going strong at 2 episodes an evening, pretty much without break. Surprissing how many episodes I don't remmember and how fresh they appear. Real interpersonal relationships, less blasting the crap out of people because they're different.

Couple of gripes. Technology is a bit dated. I mean whats with the massive CRT consols in the 25th century. Hadn't they heard of LCD and plasma displays?

Tell you what, Dianna Troy, really is starting to p1ss my wife off. I do have to agree she is the one character that erks me too. I really hate people who answer a question with a question - sounds like a certain politition down our ways: I'm talking about you Peters!

"keep it simple, stupid!"

She was quite arrogant, too. She always gave advice to other crew members, who were going through difficult times, as ship’s counselor, but went psycho whenever she went through something difficult herself. I thought she was an extremely annoying character (especially during the first few “unwatchable” seasons).
I found the Crushers by excedingly iritating.

I have DS9 on DVD

But Sky are showing both DS9 and Voyager at the moment.

Not sure which series but Sisko has just retaken the station from the Dominion and 7 of 9 has just been introduced.

Janeway is probebly more iritating than both them put together.
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. I thought Babylon 5 was a much better show. Much more original than DS9. After all, much of the premise behind B5 was stolen from JMS by Berman and Paramount.

Also, I HATED Rom in DS9. He should have been slapped repeatedly by everyone on the station; he was so annoying.
Yeah but he did lose a leg, now thats justice.

and he wasn't as bad as Wesley "We're the federation, we don't lie" Crusher.
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. Yeah, Wesley was a dufus. I would have made him acting ensign of pushing unnecessarily large objects and cleaning toilets.

Maybe it’s just me, but Wesley’s mother seemed like quite a cold fish to her son (except on one or two occasions). They didn’t seem to talk or interact much on a human level.

“How do you want to be remembered?”
Natile Portman: I don't like that question. That question only provides irony if you prematurely die.
Yeah, we had a kid at high school like rom who actually was bashed by almost everyone in our class. I am ashamed to admit I was one of the 3 who didn't.

"keep it simple, stupid!"/safety_wrapper>

Wow, just imagine if Crusher was in your class. That kid wouldn't stand a chance.
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring" - Chuck Palahniuk.

(I'm talking about you Peters!)

What do you mean about that? I will tell you what you mean, but NOT all at once. This shows the calibre of politician in Parliament today, and by crikey, I am GLAD for the people of New Zealand, *smiles an engaging, twinkly grin into the peoples living room* that I can offer them the sort of representation they deserve, and hold the larger parties to account. *shakes tatty old winebox at the camera* *spot tiny piece of lint on suit lapel, heads off looking for a tailors*

Guess where MY party votes going tomorrow, kane?

Place wouldn't be the same without him !.

bwahahaha.

There is a thread here where Jar Jar and Wesley meet some horrific death scenarios.

Search this forum for the phrase 'horrific death' and set time to at least six months.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

Oh yeah, I seem to recall enjoying posting to that thread.
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring" - Chuck Palahniuk.

You guys are missing the point of the Rom character. Life is full of irritating people and we have to deal with them. Rom eventually makes good, despite being a dufus: He marries the sexy Dabo girl AND becomes Grand Nagus!! And you know what they say: treat todays geek well, because they may be your boss one day.

Besides, be careful: The desire to bash up someone who annoys you shows severe immaturity. That's wrong thinking. Only hit those who hit you first, and even then try to turn the other cheek...

One Percent of Federal Funding For Space: America CAN Afford it!! LEO is a Prison -- It's time for a JAILBREAK!!

My favorite STNG character -- by several orders of magnitude -- would have to be Troi's mother. Lovely lady -- extremely bright, essentially kind-hearted, sexually adventurous, and wholly committed to the things she considers important...

She is *so* much more interesting than her daughter.

Just tell the truth and let the chips fall...

And on DS9, I confess to having been fond of Rom.

Talk about geek's revenge!

Just tell the truth and let the chips fall...

DS9, Kiera was lovely eye candy, but those Kiera centered episodes were awfull, Ezri Dax was particulary lovely.
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring.
