strange sight in UK skies

I just wondered if anyone can enlighten me with this strange sight of extremley bright star (more like a planet' that can be seen SE from London now (1am).<br />The strange this about it is that red/greeny bright flashing colours can be seen (and I don't quite believe in UFO's...), but I'm really puzzeled and much too curious!!!

Can't see it in York (200 miles north) - but it's a very clear night! Got a lovely view of Orion's belt.

I suggest you use star chart to locate the place again.

Thank you for your ideas.<br />I don't know locations etc but I just had to try and find something on the net about it, hence joined the club. But wouldn't have any further info about it.<br />Think some of you raised some ideas though. Me and my flatmate were just too puzzeled watching this with a naked eye!<br /><br />Cheers
