I read the following at Armadillo's web site tonight, and I thought I would pass it along. Armadillo is expecting great things in the next year or so, but if you want to help them, go buy a game.

Armadillo Aerospace News Archive
Engine Work, Vehicle Work, Supporting Armadillo
http://www.armadilloaerospace.com/n.x/Armadillo/Home/News?news_id=313

In reply to:

I get asked fairly often what people can do to support Armadillo.
...
Roughly 1% of the retail price of Id Software products provides the funding for Armadillo Aerospace. Retail stores, publishers, partners, and family are first in line, Armadillo gets what is left of my share. Buy Doom 3 or Quake 4, or Doom RPG on your cell phone, and a bolt goes on a vehicle.

I dreamt I was inside Doom (or Quake) the other night. don't like it when I dream I'm actually in a first person shooter because it's all rooms and levels and elevators and stairs and looking for ammo and weapons and trying not to get shot by monsters. To top it off, the graphics in my dreams are more reminiscent of Doom 1or Quake 1 rather than more modern games.
So I'm gonna pass on Doom 3, though the demo was cool.

http://asteroid-invasion.blogspot.com

http://www.solvengineer.com/asteroid-invasion.html

Does this mean Armadillo's ultimate plan is to build a moon base to experiment on teleportaion? Yikes! Get the space marines mobilized! Power up the BFGs!

Doom 3 is pretty neat in that it gives you a tour of a large mars-base. However the gameplay is only so-so, I find the movement to be especially limited and clumsy compared to other flavors of FPS like Half-Life and Tom Clancy stuff.

For anyone considering one of these two games, get Quake 4 instead of Doom 3, the engine has been refined a bit and the gameplay is much better.

I already own both games, so I don't know in what other way I can support these guys. Buy a T-shirt perhaps?

I don't think you read RadarRedux's original post very carefully, he quotes the Armadillo website where they say that about 1% of the retail price of Quake does indeed go towards supporting Armadillo Aerospace.
