Well, we're just over a day away from Cassini's next Titan flyby! Cassini will be studying a slightly different region of Titan this time; it's been imaged before, but not this close-up. The pass will occur at a distance of about 2,400 km above the surface of Titan and will include synthetic apeture radar as well as visual and infrared measurements and imagery.

The attached image shows the planned coverage for the pass.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

The newest Titan images are up now! Just the raw images from the main camera so far. I haven't looked through it enough to see whether any of the infrared images are in it; they weren't on the first two pages when I looked.

Click here to get the latest Titan pictures (it's a live link, so as they add more pictures, this will show them)

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
