Arrogant though it may be i think this artcle is loaded with mangled, confused ideas.
Yes, space-time is not Euclidean normal throughout.
Mass is the non-Euclidean geometry of relatively slowed time AND contracted, tightened, straightened space.
Gravity however is not a direct function of that geometry,
but a byproduct of it.
The non-Euclidean geometry of space-time and gravity are two distinct things.
Light follows the geometry of space-time exclusively and is unaffected by the mechanical process of gravity.
'Gravitational lensing' is a confused misnomer.
'Geometric lensing' would be an accurate label.
Gravity is a mechanical process of non-zero spatial extent vibrating mass bearing matterial in a external mass field tidal region.
As vibrations occur they spend longer in the direction of an external mass field's center due to time dilation.
That re-centers that center of mass closer to the external mass field's center. (generally mutual)
Shifting a mass center is aggregate vector inertia/acceleration, & by name, gravity.
That stupid rubber sheet analogy is exactly the opposite of the actual geometry of space in a mass field.
A mass field extracts, removes space from the vicinity of a mass body, making the space there shorter, tighter and somewhat lower dimensional.
The most obvious evidence for reduced space in mass fields is the 4xs faster rotation of the Sun's interior than its exterior.
Just like an ice skater's spin,
it speeds up with shorter radii.
The interior of the Sun rotates faster because there is less space there.
Gravity waves recorded in the sun for the first time reveal some interesting facts.

But whatever.
