The sun has spots. Here's what we've learned about them so far.

I enjoy using my 90-refractor telescope to view sunspots. Safely using a good, glass white solar filter designed to block out most of the light, before it enters the telescope. H-alpha filters can be better and telescopes designed just for solar observing can be great too. Much safer today than when Galileo viewed the Sun. I was surprised to read in this article that Galileo tried to do this and injured his eyesight.
